Damon Hill showed he is still a winner to his British fans despite his frustrating start to the season. Thousands of the Formula One world champion's supporters attended an Arrows open day in Oxfordshire yesterday.
"I have not been able to give my fans the kind of results they have been used to, so it is great to see so many of them turn up here," said Hill as around 10,000 supporters made the trip. "If you read the reports they give the impression that I'm despondent, unhappy, dejected and cross. That's absolute rubbish.
"It's been a tough season, but I've been through tough seasons before. I'm not frightened of just plodding on with the job."
