Motor Racing: Slow pace round Brooklands for Mansell
Instead of throwing down the gauntlet for Sunday's British Grand Prix, Nigel Mansell put on the gauntlets at Brooklands yesterday as he and his wife Rosanne went for a spin in a replica 1902 Renault to mark the 85th anniversary of the Surrey circuit and 90th anniversary of Renault sales in Britain. The Williams driver and world championship leader will be powering round Silverstone at an average of 130mph; the original Renault won the Paris-Vienna race at an average of 39mph.
