Coulthard takes lead as drivers call for talks with Mosley

At Silverstone yesterday, in the build-up to the British Grand Prix, Grand Prix Drivers' Association director David Coulthard, to whom Mosley's threat was allegedly made in a telephone conversation, spoke about the open letter that 22 drivers sent to Mosley earlier this week. "What's in the public domain is quite clear, the letters are there that you can all understand. We sent the most recent to show our disappointment in events after Indy and we obviously want to sit down and discuss that. The best way to do that is face to face but that is apparently not possible." Mosley cancelled a proposed meeting this week, after the drivers sent him their open letter.

Williams' Mark Webber said. "Safety is something that is at the top of our list, and as drivers we are always looking to improve that. Sometimes we are a bit of a quiet voice and our open letter shows we are all together and that we support David, who got the call, for the benefit of the sport. Max can still come and meet us. We don't want to run the sport."
