With his new team making their World Superbike debut next year, Carl Fogarty is pleased with their progress after testing in Valencia.

The only downside was the injury to rider James Haydon, who suffered bruising to his hip and elbow after being thrown from the Foggy Petronas Racing bike after a mechanical problem.

Nevertheless, Fogarty was still impressed. "I'm really pleased with the way it has gone," he said. "I think our performance at this stage of the project is incredible and we know there is more to come.

"This was our first test with other World Superbike teams present and so I wanted us to look our best, which I feel we did.

"Sure, it has been frustrating at times over the weekend, but that is what testing is for. If things are going wrong now and then come right for the first race, then that's fine.

"Having said all that," the four-times World champion added, "we know we have still got a long way to go and a lot of work to do."
