The reigning MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo will miss tomorrow's Dutch Grand Prix after he broke his left collarbone in a high-speed crash on a rain-soaked track during practice in Assen.
The injury is a blow to Lorenzo's hopes of retaining his title. The Spaniard, who lies second in the standings behind Dani Pedrosa, lost control of his Yamaha in afternoon practice and flew off his bike on the Hoge Heide straight. He will undergo surgery in Barcelona tomorrow.
