Raikkonen happy with 2004 car
Kimi Raikkonen expects McLaren to deliver the goods as they prepare, at last, to unleash their new car.
The Woking-based team delayed the introduction of a new machine throughout 2003 and will finally bring in the MP4-19 for the first race of the new season in Australia in March.
The Finn, who managed to take a variation of the 2002 car to second place in the drivers' championship last season, cannot wait to have his first taste of competition in the new machinery.
McLaren have no official launch plans after the embarrassment of last season's car failing crash tests and being deemed unreliable, but they will continue testing this year's version in Jerez.
Raikkonen said: "We have done the first testing with it and it looked very promising. It did good times and we were the quickest on the last day so I think it should be a good car for next year."
