Third place in Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix would be enough to secure a second consecutive world championship for Sebastian Vettel, but the 24 year-old German says he will not be cruising for points.

"Could have, would have, should have, I don't know," Vettel laughed, when the inevitable question about his title hopes was raised. "So far we haven't won anything, there's still some way to go, and we have our race to do. It's a difficult track here for car and driver. It's a long way to the chequered flag first of all, and while a lot of people talk about the title here, certain things have to happen.

"The target going into the season was to defend our title, and that's still the target. It doesn't matter when, it just matters to us that it happens."
