Lewis Hamilton gave an over-zealous security guard short shrift during practice for the Australian Grand Prix.

The British driver endured a disappointing first practice session, failing to complete a single lap, as an oil problem saw him forced to stop on the track.

Then as Hamilton made his way back to the pits, he was involved in a brief clash with a security guard who attempted to block his way, asking: "Have you got a pass?"

"I'm a driver!" came the reply as Hamilton barged his way past, clearly in no mood to hang around.

However despite the turbulent start to the day, Hamilton recovered fantastically and went on to post the fastest time of the day in the second practice session and showing just why many consider him to be the favourite for this year's Formula One title.
