Super Bowl 2015: Katy Perry confirmed for halftime show with possibility of 'edible glitter'
The US pop star has landed the coveted performance slot for next February

Katy Perry has been confirmed as the Super Bowl 2015’s halftime show performer.
The “Dark Horse” singer will head up the entertainment during the most-watched sporting TV event in the US next February, the National Football League has announced.
Perry will follow the likes of Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Madonna and Prince.
It did not take long for the 30-year-old pop star to tweet her excitement. “Yeppers! And I’ve already started testing out ideas!” she wrote, shortly after the news was shared during the Cowboys and Giants game on Sunday night.
Perry will likely perform a medley of her many chart hits for the massive audience. She has also hinted at the possibility of covering the stadium with "edible glitter" in a video by Super Bowl sponsors, Pepsi.
The 2014 halftime show, headlined by Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, drew a record of 115.3 million US TV viewers, according to Nielsen ratings.
The NFL came under fire earlier this year for allegedly asking potential performers to either pay for the privilege (and undeniable career boost) of headlining or share some of their resulting tour profits with the league.
It is not known whether Perry will agree to these terms, but recent comments suggest that she will not be contributing financially to her performance.
"I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl," she said in October.
Coldplay and Rihanna were among the other big name acts to rumoured for the coveted slot earlier this year, but Perry's stadium-sized anthemic hits seem to have won out.
Next year’s Super Bowl will be played in Glendale, Arizona on 1 February.
