England's Tournoi de France match against Brazil has been switched to Paris because the stadium in Lens, being rebuilt for the 1998 Cup finals, will not be ready on time. England will now meet the reigning world champions at Parc des Princes on 10 June. Their other two games in the four-team tournament are against Italy in Nantes on 4 June and against France in Montpellier on 7 June.

Mark Kennedy of Liverpool and the Tottenham pair Steve Carr and Neale Fenn have been withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland's B team for the representative match with the National League of Ireland select at Tolka Park, Dublin, on Monday.

Tranmere Rovers have offered around pounds 100,000 for Liverpool's former Wrexham striker Lee Jones, who is also wanted by Ipswich.

Shoreham, the Sussex County League club, have signed the former Republic of Ireland striker, John Byrne.

TRANSFERS: Devon White (forward) Watford to Notts County; Shaun Cunnington (midfielder) West Bromwich to Notts County (nominal fees).

LOAN TRANSFERS: David Hanson (forward) Leyton Orient to Chesterfield; Craig Midgley (forward) Bradford City to Scarborough; Paul Mahorn (forward) Tottenham to Brentford; Craig Armstrong (defender) Nottingham Forest to Watford.
