Stoke have been ordered by a Football League tribunal to pay up to pounds 550,000 to their First Division rivals Swindon for Peter Thorne. The fee will depend on Thorne's appearances.

Aberdeen's former Norwich left-back, Colin Woodthorpe, will join the First Division newcomers, Stockport County, today in a pounds 120,000 deal.
