Ice skating

Oksana Baiul, the Olympic figure skating champion, yesterday applied for admission to an alcohol education programme in hopes of having a drunk driving charge against her dropped. Baiul, of Hartford, Connecticut, was charged with drunk and reckless driving after she ran her Mercedes off the road on 12 January.
