BBC commentator Ted Lowe spent last night under observation in a Bangkok hospital after being taken ill with back and stomach pains. Lowe, 76, was brought out of retirement to cover the latter stages of the Castrol- Honda World Cup, but was too ill to take his place behind the microphone.
