South Africa fielded a weakened side but still beat the provincial club Rosario 45-36 in the first match of their tour of Argentina, and the first since the dismissal of their World Cup winning captain, Francois Pienaar.

The Second Division strugglers Moseley have signed Darragh O'Mahony, the Irish international, from the Dublin club Lansdowne on a three-year full-time contract. Moseley are also set to sign the 30-year-old Canadian international forward and national captain, Al Charron.
