The president of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo, was yesterday quoted in the daily newspaper La Stampa as saying that the former world champion Michael Schumacher is set to stay at Ferrari after his contract expires next year.

Martin Brundle will join an elite band of Grand Prix drivers that includes Graham Hill and Jim Clark in next month's Network RAC Rally. Brundle will swap his three-litre Jordan-Peugeot single-seater for a Ford Escort Cosworth for the three-day event which starts in Chester on 23 November.
