Regular major league umpires took charge of an American League playoff game between Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Orioles in Cleveland last night, hours after a US District Court judge ordered them to work the post-season games. They had threatened to strike over the handling of disciplinary action against Orioles' second baseman, Roberto Alomar, who spat in an umpire's face.
