Marseille, with the Bulgarian international Yordan Lechkov and German Euro 96 goalkeeper Andreas Kopke, beat Lyon 3-1 at the Stade Velodrome last night in their first match back in the French First Division. The former European champions were relegated two years ago over the Valenciennes bribery scandal and were forced to stay down despite winning the Second Division in 1995 because of financial irregularities.
