Martin Offiah's ninth try hat-trick of the season yesterday helped haul Wigan closer to a four-trophy grand slam with a 48-16 Premiership defeat of Sheffield Eagles, who surprisingly led 12-0. Offiah has 52 tries in pursuit of the leading try-scorer title for the first time in a Wigan jersey. The stand-off, Frano Botica, finished with 20 points for Wigan.
St Helens moved within 80 minutes of their third Premiership final in five years with an impressive five-try show. Two of them came late through Steve Prescott and Alan Hunte to secure a 32-16 victory over Halifax.
