Muhammad Ali has been presented with an Olympic gold medal to replace the one he won at the 1960 Games in Rome but later threw into a river in disgust.
The former heavyweight champion was given the medal at half-time of the men's basketball final, many in the crowd weeping with emotion. Ali threw the original into the Ohio River after being barred from an all-white restaurant and chased by a white gang.
