ANDREW DAVIES, one of the two British weightlifters sent home from Barcelona after failing a random drug test, protested his innocence yesterday.
Davies, 24, who went into hiding after being expelled from the Games last week, returned to his home at Caldicot, Gwent, yesterday afternoon to announce that he would consult a lawyer over the issue.
The triple Commonwealth gold medallist Davies said: 'I am not a cheat. I am innocent of the drug misuse allegations that have been made against me. Obviously my Olympics is over and now I intend to clear my name.'
