SHOOTING, which has revolutionised its format to try to make a more dramatic on the Olympics, ended as it would have dreamed yesterday when four people were involved in sudden-death shoot-outs for the trap medals.
The Czechoslovak Petr Hrdlicka and Kazumi Watanabe of Japan squared up for the gold medal, with each man given one shot per target. It was all over after the first clay. Hrdlicka hit, Watanabe missed. The bronze shoot-out went on for eight rounds before the world champion, Marco Venturini of Italy, edged Germany's Joerg Damme.
