Barcelona's Argentina forward Lionel Messi has thrown his support behind Madrid's bid for the right to host the 2020 Olympics.

With three days to go until the decision, the World Player of the Year said it would be positive to award Madrid the Games. "I don't know whether my support will help," said Messi, who was wearing a shirt with the Madrid logo on it.
