The olympic ticket-selling system came under renewed fire yesterday as the second chance to buy them got under way.

Thousands found the London 2012 website struggling to cope and faced error messages, delays and instructions to "try again later".

Fans vented their frustration on social networking sites while triple Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins branded the system "a shambles" after many members of his family missed out on tickets to watch him race.
