Paralympic gold medallist Esther Vergeer has retired after going more than 10 years unbeaten. The last time she lost was to Daniele di Toro in Sydney in January 2003, and her subsequent winning haul totalled 470 matches.

The 31-year-old Dutchwoman's victory at London 2012 brought her a fourth successive Paralympic singles gold medal.
