England women's captain Faye White is to miss the Olympics after announcing she is pregnant with her first child.

White, 34, who has won 90 caps for her country, also says she is unlikely to play for England again.

The Arsenal centre-half said: "I'm pregnant and I'm going to be a mum for the first time in October. I have spoken to [the England coach] Hope Powell and this will more or less signal the end."
