John Parrott yesterday booked his place in the final of the European Open in Antwerp for the third time. Parrott beat Nigel Bond 6-4 in the semi-finals and faces Stephen Hendry or Ronnie O'Sullivan in the 17-frame final.
Parrott has won 12 major titles, including nine on foreign soil. He has landed two ranking events apiece in Dubai and France, two invitation events in China and one victory each in Belgium, Monaco and Malta.
The seventh frame proved the turning point when he responded to Bond's break of 43 with a clearance of 89 to lead 4-3. Parrott also knocked in breaks of 107, 58 and 51 with Bond's best being 83, 81 and 66.
