Pat Schafhauser paralysed after ice hockey accident

Pat Schafhauser, the American-born member of the Swiss national team, has been paralysed after crashing headlong into a barrier during a league match. The 24-year-old tripped 51 minutes into the game between the Swiss teams Davos and Lugano and skidded on his stomach head first against the side.
