ASCOT'S card tomorrow has been abandoned and Saturday's fixture is likely to fall when stewards inspect the track at 11.30am today. Saturday's meeting at Newcastle is another casualty of heavy rain.

Officials at Warwick, standing by to stage the Victor Chandler Chase instead of Ascot on Saturday, were confident yesterday that racing would go ahead at the Midlands track. Stewards were also confident for today's card at Wincanton.
