Racing: Browne inquiry to go on

THE INQUIRY into whether the former trainer Dermot Browne breached the rule concerning giving information to a bookmaker in return for monetary reward failed to reach a conclusion yesterday.

The Jockey Club's Disciplinary Committee decided to adjourn until 27 October after sitting for most of the day and hearing evidence from various witnesses. Browne, 30, a former champion amateur jump jockey, attended the hearing with two legal representatives.

The inquiry was also considering two separate cases involving the running and riding of one of Browne's horses in 1990 and the vaccination record of another during the same year.
