THE dismal list of abandonments looks likely to grow this week, after cards at Lingfield today and Leicester tomorrow joined those washed away. Chepstow inspects early today to determine prospects for tomorrow's meeting. Plumpton will also inspect today with a weather eye on Wednesday's card.
This afternoon's programme is filled by all-weather fixtures at Wolverhampton and Southwell, which stages the first stand-by meeting but has attracted just 45 runners to a card graced by the Noah's Ark Selling Hurdle. The Drowning Punter Clutching At Straws Stakes might have been a more appropriate title.
