BAGALINO earned a run in the Triumph Hurdle when denying Edithmead by a neck in the Cat And Mouse Novice Hurdle at Sandown yesterday. Ladbrokes cut Bagalino's odds for the Cheltenham event to 33-1 from 50-1.

Despite reported betting interest in the runner-up during the week, trainer Nick Henderson has no Festival plans for Edithmead.

Today's race meeting at waterlogged Chepstow was abandoned yesterday afternoon. Newcastle's card scheduled for today has also been called off, though the big race on the card, the Eider Chase, will be run at Newcastle's Monday fixture if the freeze-up relents.
