ROBERT SANGSTER has sold his top-class colt Colonel Collins. The three-year-old, trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam, will carry the colours of Gary Tanaka when he returns to action in the Group Two Prix Eugene Adam at Saint-Cloud tomorrow.

Tanaka, who purchased the Oaks-placed Oakmead from Sangster last season and also bought User Friendly from Bill Gredley, has acquired a 75 per cent share in the son of El Gran Senor.

The deal continues Sangster's policy of letting his horses go when the right offer comes along. His sales have included the subsequent Derby winner Dr Devious and the Oaks and Irish Derby winner Balanchine. Colonel Collins, third in the Derby and the Irish equivalent, will be partnered by his usual jockey, John Reid, at Saint-Cloud.
