Lanfranco Dettori hopes to make a quick return from injury to partner Tamayaz in the Group One Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville next Sunday.
The champion jockey has gone to his native Italy to recover from the injuries he suffered in a fall at Haydock on Saturday. His agent Matty Cowing said yesterday: "Frankie's had concussion so he's got a compulsory seven days off and he's gone to Italy for a few days. But he feels OK and he will be seeing his doctor in Italy just to make sure everything is all right - he could be riding on Sunday."
Godolphin, one of Dettori's retaining owners, has three entries in Friday's Hungerford Stakes at Newbury. Darnay is the most likely to run.
