PAT EDDERY has been suspended for four days for excessive use of the whip aboard Silver Patriarch, a brave winner of the Group Two Sagitta Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket yesterday. The ban will run from 10 to 13 May.

At Musselburgh, Willie Supple completed a 367-1 double while Emma Ramsden opened her account for the season when springing a 25-1 surprise on Swan At Whalley .

But there was a sting in the tail for the Champion lady amateur as picked up a three-day ban for irresponsible riding.
