PAUL EDDERY'S appeal against a suspension for careless riding has brought him an increased sentence - a seven- day ban instead of five. He, along with Paul Howling, trainer of the horse in question, Tee-Emm, also forfeited the deposits payable when an appeal is lodged, as the Jockey Club's disciplinary committee could find no solid grounds for their plea.
Tee-Emm finished first at Lingfield in February but was placed last after Eddery was found guilty by the stewards.
Darryll Holland represents Britain in the World Jockeys' Championship in Tokyo this weekend. Frankie Dettori has won the two previous runnings.
