PAT EDDERY was yesterday made favourite to win the Ritz Club Trophy awarded to the top jockey at the Royal Ascot meeting which starts tomorrow. Corals quote him at 4-5, but William Hill offer only 1-2.

Eddery, winner of the Royal Ascot jockeys' title four times since 1986, has a powerful book of rides for the four-day meeting, headed by Zafonic in the St James's Palace Stakes tomorrow.
