Godolphin's Nunthorpe Stakes winner, So Factual, finished third under Olivier Peslier, less than two lengths behind the winner, Hishi Akebono, in the Group One Sprinters Stakes at Nakayama, Japan, yesterday. The race carried a first prize of pounds 624,000.

Peslier said: "So Factual got a good start and we were handily poised around the final bend, but the best horse won."

n Next year's Breeders' Cup at Woodbine, Toronto, will be held one week earlier than previously scheduled on 26 October.
