Racing: For the Notebook
GLENUGIE: made his debut in the valuable seller at York on Wednesday. Lost all chance when starting slowly and running very green, but stayed on with real purpose inside the last two furlongs. Could prove better than selling class over seven furlongs. (R Whitaker).
PANICSUN: backed down to favouritism when jumping fluently to score a bloodless victory on his debut in novice chase company at Hereford on Wednesday. A winner in point- to-point company, he could turn out to be a useful early-season recruit to the ranks of staying chasers. (K Bridgwater).
STORM CANYON: confirmed that he retains much of the ability he showed as a juvenile when beating Group performer Fylde Flyer in a conditions event at Yarmouth on Wednesday. Dropped two stone in the official ratings after a disappointing seasonal debut, he could embarrass the handicapper before taking on Pattern races. (J Gosden).
