2.30: COULDNT BE BETTER was a useful hurdler but always shaped as though the bigger obstacles would help him fulfil his real potential. Charlie Brooks's seven-year-old seems to be running into form - his latest run was his best display of the season. Suffolk Road is well treated by the weights but possesses less scope than the selection.

3.05: Big Beat is certain to ensure this race is run at a breakneck speed from the start. David Elsworth's six-year-old is so headstrong he lacks respect for the obstacles, however. Ghia Gneuiagh is another front-runner but, on the swing for home, the consistent Yellow Spring should be moving into contention along with BOSCEAN CHIEFTAIN. The fast pace should suit Richard Dunwoody's mount, whose staying power could well be decisive.

3.35: A contest to be wary of because of no guarantee of pace. Res Ipsa Loquitur was backed last time out but is greatly disadvantaged by these weights. As long as the race is run in a decent time, DANCING PADDY should outgallop his main rival, Pontynyswen.
