YORK
2.40: Blue Siren, in the Lochsong colours, seeks consolation for her connections against the calibre of opposition her illustrious stable companion is used to beating. She will struggle against TROPICAL, a Group Three winner who could not live with Owington last time but chased home Lochsong the time before.
3.10: The Scott stable is becoming expensive to follow in big handicaps but DESERT CONQUEROR comes here in excellent form, as a fast-finishing runner-up to the progressive Farnham at Beverley last time out. York will provide a far more suitable terrain for this big horse to show his potential.
3.40: SIR TASKER and John O'Dreams ran against each other at Newmarket on Tuesday when the selection emerged best, finishing less than four lengths behind the winner Sea-Deer. Annabel King's charge should not be dismissed, though, as he missed the break and never got on terms with the leaders.
4.10: ZILZAL ZAMAAN posted one of the most exciting performances of the season when getting the better of the smart Distant View at Newmarket in April with a large field of maidens well beaten off. His subsequent defeat can be put down to very fast ground and he remains a horse with the potential to reach the highest grade.
