Irish National Hunt jockey Charlie Swan is close to tears at Sandown, Melbourne, after steering King Taros, a hot favourite, up a dead-end instead of towards the line. The pair held a clear lead after jumping the last, and the mistake was thought to have cost punters pounds 40,000. Swan, riding at the track for the first time, was banned for five weeks.
