LIMESTONE LAD, the horse who inflicted a defeat on the champion hurdler Istabraq last weekend, could return to action in a fortnight's time.
But a return meeting with Istabraq at the Cheltenham Festival looks unlikely. James Bowe, the owner/trainer of Limestone Lad, is considering a two-and- a-half-mile conditions hurdle at Navan next month for the seven-year-old.
But Bowe's son, Michael, who does all the work with the horse at his father's Thurles stable, said yesterday: "Frankly, I've never had a plan with this horse. We don't normally decide where he's going until about a week before.
"I don't want to get carried away. I want my options left open. This horse is a real home-bird. He's a bit spoilt. He likes his own feed-pot and has his own habits,'' he added.
