WITH nine of his stable, excluding the now sidelined Carvill's Hill and Lord Relic, still entered in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Martin Pipe could have some tricky riding arrangements to sort out before 17 March. With Richard Dunwoody out of the picture, his understudy at Pipe's stable, Jonathon Lower, reminded the trainer of his talents with a 28-1 double at Taunton yesterday.

Lower is hopeful of partnering Chatam, disappointing behind Jodami in Ireland last time, in chasing's blue riband. 'I will ride one of the guvnor's in the Triumph Hurdle and as I've ridden and won on Chatam I hope there is no reason why I should not ride him again,' he said.
