ADRIAN MAGUIRE will not have legal representation when he appears before the Jockey Club's Disciplinary Committee inquiry into his use of the whip. The season's leading jockey will be accompanied only by his agent, Dave Roberts, when he attempts to explain his controversial riding of Ramstar at Warwick last Saturday.
Maguire, cleared by the local stewards despite raising his whip more than 20 times in the latter stages, was summoned after the Jockey Club's stewards decided to re-open the case on Wednesday. His decision not to seek legal representation should ensure that the hearing, which could result in a lengthy ban, takes place next week.
