RUNNING STAG is to be supplemented for the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown on 3 July after opening his American account at the sixth attempt and picking up $210,000 (pounds 127,000) in the Grade Two Brooklyn Handicap at Belmont on Saturday.

His trainer, Philip Mitchell, said: "I told Shane Sellers to go and party with him from the quarter-mile pole. It's a real joy to win your first race in America. The aim now is a win in a Group One race in Europe and we'll supplement him for the Eclipse Stakes."
