Racing: National hero Crump is dead

The triple-Grand National winning trainer Neville Crump died on Saturday night, aged 86. Crump began training in 1937. He was Champion National Hunt trainer in the 1951-52 and 1956-57 seasons. His three Aintree winners were: Sheila's Cottage (1948), Teal (1952) and Merryman II (1960). Crump also trained five Scottish National winners and two Welsh National winners. He retired in 1989.
