Superior Premium: Beat 28 others from far-side draw in this last year. Now 11lb higher. Good fourth to Bold Edge at Royal Ascot.

Halmahera: Just touched off by Deep Space in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot. Winner since.

Night Shot: Stays 6f, but all winning form at shorter, and ran sixth to Superior Premium last year.

Night Flight: Beat Tuesday's scorer Rudi's Pet at Ascot last time. Possibly better at 5f.

Primo Lara: Already twice successful this term. Fair third to Tajasur at Newbury latest effort.

Tussle: Good fifth to Deep Space from bad draw in the Wokingham and not disgraced over 5f at Ascot last time when hampered.

Perryston View: Big-sprint-handicap specialist - winner of 1997 Ayr Gold Cup but well beaten last time in the Wokingham.

Coastal Bluff: Winner of this in 1996 but on the downgrade now.

Deep Space: Beat Halmahera in the Wokingham but then showed little over 7f. Best at this trip.

Levelled: Held by handicapper.

Brave Edge: Now eight and well beaten at Ascot last weekend.

Red Lion: Has 3lb penalty for a narrow win at Yarmouth last time. This is more competitive.

Amazing Dream: Was useful at two but may not have trained on.

Harmonic Way: Rarely wins but fifth in this race last year.

Literary Society: 10th in this last year and a good third at Ascot last week. Can be tricky at the stalls.

Twice As Sharp: Very speedy in early stages. Running well but seems pretty exposed.

Indian Spark: Only midfield in the Wokingham and prefers soft.

Pepperdine: Favourite for this since impressive win over 22 others at York in June. Laid out for this by brilliant trainer of sprinters.

Cadeaux Cher: Winner of Portland Handicap last year and a running-on sixth in the Wokingham. Needs luck for late run.

Silca Blanka: Epsom winner (7f) last time but may lack pace for 6f.

Magic Rainbow: Improved this year and a good second to Rudi's Pet (winner since) last time.

Now Look Here: Off since May and looks better suited by 7f.

Champagne Rider: In the grip of the handicapper, though a good third to Pepperdine at York.

Double Oscar: Second over track and trip two races ago. Trainer a master with sprinters.

Loch Laird: Winner here on soft ground. Well beaten recently.

Sylva Paradise: Without a win since 1996 but showed signs of a return to form at Ascot last time.

Price Of Passion: Faded fast last time and needs improvement.

Iris May: Badly drawn when fourth to Rudi's Pet at Newcastle in June. Best at 5f.

Cauda Equina: A winner twice at Bath but this is much tougher.

Double Bounce: No back number based on recent Newbury sixth.

Conclusion: TUSSLE, first home on the unfavoured side in the Wokingham Handicap, can make amends. His trainer, Michael Bell, also has chances with Magic Rainbow, while Richard Fahey's pair Superior Premium and Night Flight pose threats.
