MORE meetings are to be added to racing's already crowded fixture list in 1995, with 24 cards on a dozen Sundays during the year. There will also be 219 evening cards, an increase of 49 on this year.
The British Horseracing Board announced a total 1,170 fixtures, an increase of 18. The Sunday and additional evening racing will delight the big off-course bookmakers in particular. Controls on betting shop opening hours have been drastically relaxed.
Aintree will stage evening racing on 18 May. The BHB also announced an extension of the jump season through June and July next year.
