SEA HERO, carrying the colours of Paul Mellon, won the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on Saturday night, beating the favourite, Prairie Bayou, by two and a half lengths. The winner, who paid 129-10, was trained by MacK Miller and ridden by Jerry Bailey and never looked likely to be headed after quickening up on the rail at the top of the stretch.
