IAN BALDING confirmed at Warwick yesterday that Selkirk will run against Arazi in the Breeders' Cup Mile at Gulfstream Park at the end of this month.
The Kingsclere trainer said he had been concerned the high temperatures in Florida would be unsuitable for Selkirk but that owner George Strawbridge was keen for the colt to compete there.
The turf race could include other top European milers, Rodrigo de Triano, Hatoof, Lahib, Exit To Nowhere and Marling. Mr Brooks, Sunday's Prix de l'Abbaye winner, is also among the list of possibles.
Tenby, winner of the Grand Criterium at Longchamp on Saturday, was yesterday cut by Ladbrokes to 8-1 from 10-1 for next year's Derby. The colt may have one more race this season, perhaps in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on 24 October.
